Blending Ideas
Gunpowder works well when either overpowered (with mints, cardamom, rose, lavender, hibiscus) or paired with other unique flavors (like juniper, elderberry, lemon balm, cranberry, turmeric). If you want a unique tea and know your way around our flavors, gunpowder is worth trying, but be aware that this is not the friendliest tea to begin your blending journey.
Story
Gunpowder green tea has been produced the same way in China for over 1000 years. It is the tea base in North African tea (aka Moroccan Mint) and is paired with spearmint and sweetened with honey or sugar. Nicknamed gunpowder for its unique shape that looks like coarse grains of gunpowder, it packs a nutty flavor reminiscent of old books.
